That's right campers, leave it to the left to try and draw attention away from the fact that the Times Square bomber was a bona fide, Taliban trained Muslim terrorist. How are they doing this, you ask? By going after the REAL culprit here........GUNS!!!
Dana Milbank of the Washington Post asks:
Is the NRA a terrorist organization? Not surprisingly, it goes on to rail against the gun lobby and uses the attempted CAR BOMBING to clamor for new gun laws. Hello?
By George W. Bush's standard -- you're either with us or against us in the fight against terrorism -- NRA chief Wayne LaPierre should be just a few frequent-flier miles short of a free ticket to Gitmo right about now. Seems he and the rest of the gun lobby are fighting for terrorists' right to buy firearms.Oh, right you are, Dana. Because training, funding, and harboring terrorists is the same thing as defending gun rights. How pathetic.
On Wednesday, New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg and NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly, using the star power they acquired in the apprehension of the Times Square bomb suspect, came to Capitol Hill to plead for Congress to change the absurdity in the law that keeps those with alleged terrorist ties off airplanes but enables them to legally buy guns and explosives.Yeah, perhaps the government should worry about keeping terrorists OFF of planes, which Faisal Shahzad had managed to gain entry onto.

If purchase of guns have to be controlled, then I suggest that it should start with proper assessment and evaluation of the buyer. This is to ensure that the buyer is not a terrorist. However, this cannot really be a fool-proof measure. Probably, one way to keep terrorism from taking place in our states or cities is to be vigilant.
