Remember that line the lefties used when they held their "anti-war" protests? In reality they were nothing more than anti-Republican and anti-American protests. Need proof? Notice how the protests have completely stopped? And what's changed? Is the Iraq or Afghanistan war over? Yet the protestors have disappeared.

Anyway, they would always make it a point to say how they supported the troops, just not the war. I guess now that they no longer have to hide their contempt for the military, it's becoming very obvious.

The NY Post reports:

Columbia University students heckled a war hero during a town-hall meeting on whether ROTC should be allowed back on campus.

"Racist!" some students yelled at Anthony Maschek, a Columbia freshman and former Army staff sergeant awarded the Purple Heart after being shot 11 times in a firefight in northern Iraq in February 2008. Others hissed and booed the veteran.

Maschek, 28, had bravely stepped up to the mike Tuesday at the meeting to issue an impassioned challenge to fellow students on their perceptions of the military.
Pretty classy, huh? This man was shot 11 times and is heckled at a meeting. I wonder if these leftist geniuses realize that it's because of people like Staff Sergeant Anthony Maschek that they can spew their hate and ignorance.
Several students laughed and jeered the Idaho native, a 10th Mountain Division infantryman who spent two years at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington recovering from grievous wounds.

Maschek, who is studying economics, miraculously survived the insurgent attack in Kirkuk. In the hail of gunfire, he broke both legs and suffered wounds to his abdomen, arm and chest
Sounds like the kind of guy to call "Racist!" and to heckle. Don't forget, that these are the same liberals who claim to champion free speech.........as long as they agree with it.

This might be the most cowardly, bizarre, low, underhanded and flat out stupid things I've ever seen from the democrats.

Apparently Wisconsin democrats, having suffered a historic beating in the last election, have decided to completely boycott new Governor Walkers vote on budget bill. The problem democrats have is that the bill will bascially strip the unions of their power. Union execs and members, fat and happy off of government money, are angry. So angry that many schools had to close because the teachers didn't show up for work, but remember: "It's all about the children!!!"

How does this story get bizarre? Well, since the dems cannot stop the budget bill from passing (they completely lack the votes to do so now), they did not show up at the vote like they were REQUIRED to do.

The latest twist is that the dems have turned up in a hotel in Illinois, refusing to return to work until they get their way!!

According to the Twitter account of Democrat State Senator Chris Larson from Bay View, “For those looking for us, we are right here, standing with the people of Wisconsin.”

"It happened ... for the same reason the Civil War happened in the United States," Moran said. "Southern states, particularly the slaveholding states, didn't want to see a president who was opposed to slavery.

Gosh, Jim, you figured it out. It really has nothing to do with Obama's dangerous and failing policies. It has nothing to do with the trillion dollar stimulus that has achieved absolutely nothing. It has nothing to do with the unemployment rate hovering around 9.5%. It has nothing to do with your continued incompetence in foreign affairs. It's just because he's black. You're too smart, Jim. You caught us.

Ok, I know the year is only 5 days old, but it's still a great story. Apparently a 71 year old father of NINE, who was down on his luck, was discovered recently.

Take Representative Jerrold Nadler (D, NY) who has suddenly awoken to the fact that when Bush tax cuts expire, the fat cats that donate to HIM will get soaked with new taxes. His solution? Continue the Bush tax cuts, but only in blue states.
Democrats: Say, Let’s Exempt Rich People in Blue States From Tax Hike!

The Journal notes that the “irony” of the tax increase coming on January 1 is that the bluest states will be hardest hit. New York, California, Connecticut, and New Jersey will be hit pretty hard and this poses a “problem” for those pro-tax Democrats that will suddenly find rich constituents who will be angry about the new hit on their income.

But, Representative Jerrold Nadler (D, NY) has come up with the perfect solution. Nadler wants to pass a law that exempts his rich constituents and those of other taxpayers in areas with a higher cost of living, i.e. other Democrats. The Journal reveals that Nadler’s new law would “require the IRS to adjust tax brackets proportionally in regions where the average cost of living is higher than the national average.”

In other words, the various tax brackets would apply to residents in certain regions at higher income levels versus other parts of the country. A family with an income of $50,000 or even $1 million in Manhattan would pay less federal income tax than a family with the same earnings in Omaha. The bill is called the Tax Equity Act, but a more accurate title would be the Blue State Tax Preference Act.

Imagine that, eh? A Democrat that wants the coming tax hike to affect only Republican states. Who wudda thunk it?

President Barack Obama is said to have received $71,051- around £46,000 - and his secretary of state Hillary Clinton $6700 from the firm that both have savaged since the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.

Clinton has led the calls for the SNP government to explain their decision to send cancer-stricken Abdelbaset al-Megrahi home to Libya last August.

United Nations Takes Action Against North Korea........By Sending Them $170 million

Yet, after evidence has proven that N. Korea sank a S. Korean warship with a torpedo last month, the United Nations sends them millions of dollars (consisting of U.S. taxpayer dollars).

Even as the United States tries to ratchet up sanctions against North Korea for its March 26 sinking of a South Korean warship, the United Nations is preparing to spend more than $170 million on new programs in the xenophobic communist state.

Can you believe this? North Korea KILLED 46 sailors on board that South Korean ship and the U.N. does nothing but give them millions of dollars???

Of course, that's not the worst of it:

More surprisingly, it is doing so with the knowledge and cooperation of the U.S. State Department.

That's right campers, the U.S. knows about this and hasn't said or done a thing. Despicable.

The U.N. aid programs cover everything from health care, like anti-malaria campaigns and tuberculosis vaccinations, to agriculture projects, sanitation and water supply improvements, educational programs and and statistics-gathering to help in delivering "knowledge management products and information services."

Don't get me wrong. I understand that these are humanitarian supplies and I certainly don't want the people of North Korea to suffer for the acts of its brutal leadership, but this is too much. Perhaps if the U.N. had actually condemned N. Korea's actions and were at least coming up with some sort of plan to punish it, I might be more understanding.

Nations like North Korea are exactly what the United Nations was designed to deal with. THAT'S why it exists, yet it has shown time after time to be nothing more than a gathering of corrupt, dishonest bureaucrats.

Obama didn't do much better when he basically alluded to police officers harassing innocent people for no reason:

Now, in her defense, I'm not sure if she's lying or she is just too stupid to know that Obamacare DOES require you to purchase insurance.

Her point here, I think, is that fining people for failing to buy insurance technically isn’t the same thing as requiring them to buy insurance. Don’t want to buy it? No problem — the government will simply take some of your money instead. It’s like saying you’re not “required” to pay your taxes because you can of course “choose” not to pay, in which case the IRS will simply garnish your wages and put a lien on your property.

Allahpundit has a good point that I didn't consider. Technically, you are not required to purchase health insurance....but if you don't you are facing fines and possibly imprisonment.

Ahhh, that liberal nuance!!!! It is absolutely frightening that these "representatives" either do not know what the bill is about or they do know what it is about so they are lying about it. Which is it congresswoman????

The system Congress and the Obama administration want employers to use to help curb illegal immigration is failing to catch more than half the number of unauthorized workers it checks, a research company has found.

The online tool E-Verify, now used voluntarily by employers, wrongly clears illegal workers about 54 percent of the time, according to Westat, a research company that evaluated the system for the Homeland Security Department. E-Verify missed so many illegal workers mainly because it can't detect identity fraud, Westat said.

Wait, so let me get this straight. A program that is designed to help combat identity fraud, doesn't work because it can't detect.......identity fraud. Am I missing something here?

During yesterday’s Senate hearing on government oversight of security contractors, an interesting tidbit emerged. In his prepared testimony, Fred Roitz, executive vice president of contracts and chief sales officer for Xe (a.k.a. Blackwater), disclosed that his company, through its subsidiary Presidential Airways, evacuated a congressman from Niger during a recent military coup.

Hmmmmm, interesting isn't it? It conjures up visions of a narrow escape from a hostile enemy closing in on unarmed civilians seeking to flee!!!

Turns out it was none other than Rep. Alan Grayson, the Florida Democrat who has made his reputation by going after military contractors. Irony alert! Grayson spokesman Todd Jurkowski confirmed that Grayson was spirited out of the country on a Xe helicopter, and offered this statement to Schulman: “The flight was arranged through the State Department … The congressman did not know, and frankly did not care, who owned the plane."

Ahhhh, now it becomes clearer. The good Congressman "didn't care" who it was that saved his ass back then, but has made quite a name for himself persecuting those same people. Absolutely ridiculous.

No doubt our "unbiased" media will make this a noted story since it involves the hypocrisy of an elected official. Oh wait, I forgot, he's a democrat.

Troops Now Checking With LAWYERS Before Engaging Terrorists

The Captain had to transmit video feed back to a lawyer and get the approval to attack the insurgents.

It gets worse. Apparently, when the video feed showed kids playing nearby, the strike was cancelled. The terrorits escaped and are free to kill and maim more of our troops.

I recently picked up this book, "Courting Disaster", written by Marc Thiessen. It deals with the topic of our enhanced interrogation techniques and does a marvelous job at dispeling all of the myths and flat out lies that have been propogated by the media and the left (Is there a difference?).

Obama recently declassified thousands of pages of documents regarding those interrogations in an attempt to keep the focus off of his sinking approval ratings. Unfortunately for him, it was all Thiessen needed to tell the truth about these interrogations.

He speaks about the specific terrorist plots that were stopped because of thse interrogations and how before such interrogations were made, we knew virtually nothing about Al Qaeda. He names names, dates, and specifics about the plots and shows how they were stopped because of these tactics.

The scene shows crowds of people in city streets carrying signs that say, “stop the socialists,” “tea bag libs before they tea bag you,” and “no to new taxes.” Naturally, the people in these crowds are depicted as being filled with nothing but white folks.

Holder Claims Over 300 Terrorists Have Been Tried And Convicted In Civilian Courts

What's the problem with this claim, you ask? It's not true. Apparently when the Obama administration was taking heat for treating terrorists like common criminals, Holder made this astounding claim.

Last year, when Republicans criticized the law-enforcement model of counterterrorism adopted by the Obama administration, Attorney General Eric Holder rebutted the argument by claiming that the US had successfully imprisoned 300 terrorists through the federal court system.

This came as Obama was promising to close Guantanomo Bay and try terrorists as criminals in civilian courts. As I've said, the only problem with Holder's statement is that it was a complete lie.

This came as news to Congress, since the sudden wave of terrorists had escaped their notice, and Senator Jon Kyl asked Holder to supply him with a list of the cases.

Surprisingly, Senator Kyl has never received that list. Shocker!!! Isn't the Attorney General supposed to be the top law enforcement official in the United States? Ok, then, isn't flat out lying to Senators a little........wrong? Maybe I'm just old fashioned.

Weeks passed, and then months, with no response. Then, last October, Kyl got an answer, of sorts, from Assistant Attorney General Ronald Weich. Citing federal regulations, Weich said he “cannot provide … a list of Bureau of Prisons inmates,” although he said the department could give Kyl “briefings about terrorism suspects housed in federal prisons generally.”

I'm sure our one party media will be all over this story any day now.

My Trip To Yankees Fantasy Camp!!

I was going to wait until the photographs from the camp arrived, but it could be another 4 weeks before they get here. Luckily, my wife attended the last day of the camp and the banquet and got some great shots. The camp was absolutely fantastic! You really feel like you are a part of the team and the friendship and camraderie is amazing.

Here were some of the Yankee greats that attended the camp: David Wells, Homer Bush, Mike Torrez, Bucky Dent, Mickey Rivers, Oscar Gamble, Jesse Barfield, Lee Mazelli, and Al Downing to name just a few.

They were all terrific and me and my brother, Bob, had the best time down there.

Here are a few pics:

This is Mike Torrez. He won two World Series games with the New York Yankees in 1977. He was the coach of our team, "The Bats". He was a wonderful guy and he hung out with his players a lot of the time off of the field. He had some GREAT stories about Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Yogi Berra, and others.

This is the absolutely SMOKING hot reporter for Fox News, Ainsley Earhardt. She came to do a story of me attending the camp and she was very sweet. She was very laid back and easy going and made it much easier on me to be on camera. Also, I was the envy of the entire camp, she is very beautiful!

This was David Wells first camp and he was absolutely hysterical! He's a great guy and also had a ton of stories. My favorite has to be when he told us that once he discovered there was a jail cell in Yankee Stadium he would go down there and mess with the drunks in the cells! The cops there used to love it when he came in. He was a riot!

This young man is Joe. Joe is blind, but still came down to the camp to wear the uniform and share in the magic of that week. He was an inspiration to me as he had the greatest outlook toward life. He won the Lou Gherig Character Award and I couldn't agree more. What a great guy!

I'm so happy that LeeAnn decided to come down for the last couple of days of the camp!

Democrats Seek To Change Constitution

Democrats in Congress want to amend the U.S. Constitution to say free speech does not extend to corporations in response to the Supreme Court’s decision allowing freer corporate spending in political campaigns.

So now the democrats are dictating who free speech extends to and who it does not. What could go wrong?

On Tuesday, Rep. John Conyers, Michigan Democrat and chairman of the Judiciary Committee, and Rep. Donna F. Edwards, Maryland Democrat, introduced an amendment to combat “the flawed ruling by the Supreme Court allowing corporations to spend unlimited amounts of money on elections.”

Ah, I see, so whenever the dems disagree with Supreme Court decisions they will just amend the Constitution. Beautiful. Bear in mind, this entire debate started over the fact that the dems didn't want a disparaging movie about Hillary Clinton to air during the election. Things becoming a bit clearer?

The proposed amendment, introduced in the House, says that the government “may regulate the expenditure of funds for political speech by any corporation, limited liability company, or other corporate entity.”

Indeed, this is just another attempt to gain more control. They truly have no shame.

Hmm, in Ohio no less. A "battleground" state that each side sees as essential to winning any presidential election. Well, if you're gonna cheat, you might as well cheat big!!

The government teacher at Perry High School in Massillon, Ohio, handed out forms recruiting students to intern for Organizing for America, a grassroots organization with direct ties to the Democratic National Committee and the successor organization for Obama for America.

Color me shocked..........really.

You know pushing kids towards democrat dominated organizations is bad enough, but this next part is what really ticked me off:

Included on the forms was a suggested reading list that included Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" and Organizing for America's mission to build on the "movement that elected President Obama by empowering students across the country to help us bring about our agenda of change."

Absolutely appalling. Can you imagine if they had been pushing them into conservative groups and requiring them to read radical right wing books?

No Republican equivalent was offered to the students, according to Perry schools' Superintendent John Richard.

In an interview with FoxNews.com on Wednesday, Richard acknowledged that distribution of the forms violated school policy and said they were never submitted to school administrators for approval, but the teacher remains on the job.

So, once again, we see the standard reaction when a teacher is caught shoveling propaganda for the democrats, "Oh, they were wrong, we knew nothing about it, and the teacher will remain employed." In other words, they'll keep doing it until they are caught. This teacher should be fired and the administrator of the school needs to be transferred. This is absolutely unacceptable.

"We don't take sides politically, nor should we, and we certainly would not support students being indoctrinated politically or religiously or anything along those lines," he said.

So while proposing the biggest budget, and consequently deficit, in American history you also decry freezing the pay of the very same people who are proposing such bloated increases. Got it.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) rejected the idea of continuing a congressional pay freeze until Congress can balance the budget, saying that it would take “a long time” until the budget might be balanced – too long, he said, for Congress to go without a pay raise.

Heavens to Betsy!! We wouldn't want you to go too long without a pay raise, Steny!! For the record, Hoyer, makes $193,400.00 a year. Geez, I didn't realize you made so little, how silly of me. I realize that saying "Liberal Hypocrisy" is simply repeating myself, but there is just no other way to describe this story. Michael Moore, the hater of anything American, has applied for, and will receive, tax subsidies for HIS company. What's the big deal, you ask? Well, this is the same Michael Moore who blasted those same subsidies in his movie "Capitalism: A Love Story".

Moore is a member of the Film Office Advisory Council, which advises the state-run Michigan Film Office.

So Michael tore apart these subsidies in his movie which depicted capitalism as everything that is evil in the world, then turns around and benefits from that same capitalism. Disgusting coward.

“While we don’t blame Mr. Moore and his production team for taking what is offered, it’s striking that a movie focused on the inequities of granting taxpayer dollars to private enterprise would apply for and receive taxpayer-funded incentives,” said Michael LaFaive, fiscal policy director at the Mackinac Center.

Striking? No, it's not striking, its typical liberal hypocrisy, nothing less. Can you imagine if a Republican/conservative supporter had pulled something like this? It would be plastered all over the news, but alas, our media is firmly in the back pocket of the dems so you won't see much coverage of it at all.

Why would anyone possibly care what "grievances" a group of people who murder unarmed women because they try to get an education have? What was this guy thinking?

The two sides have been at an impasse for years over almost every fundamental issue, including the issue of talking itself.

Yet another case from the "Bush was right!" file. Apparently, the Obama administration has come to the conclusion that there are 50 prisoners being held in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba that are too dangerous to release, yet don't have enough evidence to try them.

A Justice Department-led task force has concluded that nearly 50 of the 196 detainees at the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, should be held indefinitely without trial under the laws of war, according to Obama administration officials.

Sound familiar? The Bush administration did the same thing and the liberals, the media, the human rights organizations, the ACLU, as well as the rest of the world went ballistic. So I ask, where's the outrage? Will we see protests demanding the civil rights of these terrorists, like they did under Bush? Will we see lawsuits against the government fighting for the freedom of these poor innocents, like they did under Bush?

Human rights advocates have bemoaned the administration’s failure to fulfill President Obama’s promise last January to close the Guantanamo Bay facility within a year as well as its reliance on indefinite detention, a mechanism devised during George W. Newsbusters has a tear jerking tribute to the official death of Air America. For those of you that might not know, and judging by their ratings most of you don't, Air America was talk radio for liberals. It had many liberal hosts, like MSNBC's Ed Schultz, who apparently couldn't draw more than 4 listeners on any one show.

Air America, the progressive talk radio network, said Thursday that it would cease broadcasting immediately, bowing to what it called a “very difficult economic environment.”

Yeah, "very difficult economic enviornment", my fanny. I guess that's what becomes of your radio station when you can't draw any listeners, but what the hell, blame the economy.

“It is with the greatest regret, on behalf of our Board, that we must announce that Air America Media is ceasing its live programming operations as of this afternoon, and that the Company will file soon under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code to carry out an orderly winding-down of the business,” the chair of Air America Media, Charlie Kireker, said in a memorandum.

Sniff, sniff, so sad. So very sad.

The news did not come as a total surprise to staffers. The company, which has more than 100 affiliates, has suffered from financial troubles since it was founded in 2004. The company first filed for bankruptcy protection in 2006, but managed to stay on the air at that time.

Financial troubles since 2004? The hell you say. I thought it was due to the tough economy. If you've ever listened to any of the shows that were broadcast on Air America you would know that it was basically a 24/7 conservative hatefest blaming every problem in the world on George Bush.

Oh well, Godspeed Air America........and good riddance.

The New York Rangers won 8-2 last night, defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Rangers have put together a pretty impressive record as of late, picking up points in 7 of their last 10 games. They are currently in 6th place as far as the playoffs.

Vaclav Prospal had a goal and assist in New York's big first period, and linemate Marian Gaborik tied a career high with four assists as the Rangers used their resurgent offense to overpower the Tampa Bay Lightning 8-2 on Tuesday night.

Gaborik has been an excellent addition to the Rangers and really seems like the driving force behind the Ranges right now.

Keep in mind this is the same man who said we need to spend our way out of debt. Smart power in action!!!!

As our source put it, this is a “naked effort by Rahm Emanuel and the White House to extort Nelson’s vote.” They are “threatening to close a base vital to national security for what?” asked the Senate staffer."

Ahhhh, nothing like toying with national security in order to pander to the left wing base. One can only imagine if this sort of thing was done under the Bush administration. The liberals would be screaming for congressional hearings and talks of impeachment. So sad.

Indeed, Offutt is the headquarters for US Strategic Command, the successor to Strategic Air Command, and not by accident. STRATCOM was located in the middle of the country for strategic reasons. Its closure would be a massive blow to the economy of the state of Nebraska, but it would also be another example of this administration playing politics with our national security.

In other words, this is no ordinary military base, it's part of SAC and its in Nebraska for a reason. As low as the democrats have gotten, even I didn't expect them to go to the level of risking the security of this nationa in order to pass their agenda.

It seems that some Iraqi militants, using what Fox News has described as $26.00 software, have intercepted images from orbiting U.S. drones. The militants are, not surpirsingly, backed by Iran. So much for that "unclenching of the fist" rhetoric, eh Obama?

"Senior defense and intelligence officials said Iranian-backed insurgents intercepted the video feeds by taking advantage of an unprotected communications link in some of the remotely flown planes' systems. Shiite fighters in Iraq used software programs such as SkyGrabber -- available for as little as $25.95 on the Internet -- to regularly capture drone video feeds, according to a person familiar with reports on the matter."

I'm no technology guru, nor an expert on defense systems, but it would seem to me that this sort of information is pretty important and may need some sort of encryption that $26.00 software can't intercept!!

U.S. officials say there is no evidence that militants were able to take control of the drones or otherwise interfere with their flights. Still, the intercepts could give America's enemies battlefield advantages by removing the element of surprise from certain missions and making it easier for insurgents to determine which roads and buildings are under U.S. surveillance.

Reid Sinks To New Low; Says GOP Would Have Defended Slavery

Just when you think Harry Reid can't sink any lower, he manages to surprise me. Today, while trying to intimidate and brow beat people into supporting the health care bill, Reid claimed that

Instead of joining us on the right side of history, all the Republicans can come up with is, 'slow down, stop everything, let's start over.' If you think you've heard these same excuses before, you're right," Reid said. "When this country belatedly recognized the wrongs of slavery, there were those who dug in their heels and said 'slow down, it's too early, things aren't bad enough."

Of course, when Reid talks of "joining us on the right side of history" what he really means is that he wants Republicans to do what he wants when he wants to do it, much like Obama.

This is standard SOP for the democrats. Does Reid talk about how they are going to pay for this health care fiasco, which now tops $2 TRILLION?? Does he tell us HOW it is going to improve health care? Does he mention why it is necessary to overhaul health care for everyone in the United States instead of just concentrating on those without it? Of course not, he just uses bullying tactics and empty rhetoric to try and intimidate people into supporting it. These are dark days for American politics, that's for sure.

As far as the Republicans supportin slavery Harry might want to read up on a little history. As the article notes:

Giants Complete Season Sweep of Cowboys!!

The G-men actually showed signs of life yesterday!! They looked like the team of old where they were loose and having fun. The result was a 31-24 win over their biggest rival. This completed the two game sweep which is the first time they have swept Dallas since 2004. BOO YAA!!!!

The Giants were 6-5 before Sunday and did not look like a confident team that was heading into the playoffs. They looked lethargic and uninterested. Apparently head coach Tom Coughlin made a few changes.

The moves smacked of desperation. When Giants coach Tom Coughlin decided to demote Pro Bowl defensive end Osi Umenyiora and veteran defensive tackle Fred Robbins, it seemed like another shot in the dark during a season that was going nowhere.

Indded it smacked of desperation, because the Giants were desperate. It appears that the demotion did work because the Giants defense, which gave up 250 yards rushing in their first meeting, held Dallas to 45 yards on the ground.

Added Tuck: "It worked. From now on, the coaches are like heroes."

Funny how that works, huh? Listen to the coaches....and you win!! What a concept! When Coughlin first came to the Giants there was a lot of grumbling. Coughlin is not known as a "players coach", meaning he is a hard ass and he's not trying to be the players best friend. It came to a head in the 2006-2007 season when Tiki Barber retired, citing Coughlin as one of the reasons. The very next year the Giatns won the Super Bowl defeating the New England Patriots in one of the biggest upsets in Super Bowl history. So here's a tip for you Giants, LISTEN TO YOUR COACHES!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, the Giants have an even bigger game coming up this Sunday against another big rival, the Philadelphia Eagles. Last time they met, Philly absolutely humiliated the Giants so lets hope that this Giant team shows up rather than the old one!

I don't understand. Isn't THIS the war the left said we should be fighting? Isn't THIS the war the left said Bush was ignoring? Isn't THIS the just cause we should have been pursuing? Now that they are in charge, we are to abandon it?

"I simply can't believe you're about to do what they say you are going to do," documentary filmmaker Michael Moore said in an open letter to Obama posted on his Web site. Moore warned that Obama would tarnish his legacy, turn away his supporters and effectively crown himself the new "war president" by escalating the war in Afghanistan.

"With just one speech tomorrow night you will turn a multitude of young people who were the backbone of your campaign into disillusioned cynics," Moore wrote. "Your potential decision to expand the war ... will do more to set your legacy in stone than any of the great things you've said and done in your first year.

"For the sake of your presidency, hope, and the future of our nation, stop. For God's sake, stop," Moore wrote.

Gosh, let's hope that Obama doesn't care what a fat, left wing, proven liar thinks.

MoveOn.org had this to say:

"President Obama is poised to make a critical decision about the Afghanistan war in the next few weeks. He needs to hear that we need an exit strategy -- not tens of thousands more troops stuck in a quagmire," the group's Web site says.

Any of this sound familiar? Quagmire? Exit strategy? Well, it should because it was exactly what all the dems were screaming about with Iraq. They claimed that the 20,000 troop surge that Bush ordered was going to be useless and futile. In fact, Obama had this to say about the troop surge in Iraq.

"I don’t think the president’s strategy is going to work. We went through two weeks of hearings on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee; experts from across the spectrum–military and civilian, conservative and liberal–expressed great skepticism about it. My suggestion to the president has been that the only way we’re going to change the dynamic in Iraq and start seeing political commendation is actually if we create a system of phased redeployment. And, frankly, the president, I think, has not been willing to consider that option, not because it’s not militarily sound but because he continues to cling to the belief that somehow military solutions are going to lead to victory in Iraq."

Very eloquent, Obama, except you were wrong. The surge did work and Iraq has had some of the lowest violence levels since the war started. Now, apparently, the left is convinced that a surge won't work in Afghanistan. Picking up a trend here?

Peter Wehner at the Weekly Standard wrote up a great article about the success of the surge and how it made the dems look pretty incompetent.

Obama, then, was not only wrong about the surge; he was spectacularly wrong. And he continued to remain wrong even as mounting evidence of its success gave way to overwhelming evidence of its success.

Ouch!! It's just sad that the dems have not learned from recent history.

4 Police Officers Gunned Down In Washington

Four police officers were murdered today in Lakewood, Washington when a gunman entered a coffee shop where the officers were working with their laptops and opened fire.

Troyer said investigators believe two of the officers were shot dead while sitting in the shop, and a third was killed after standing up. The fourth apparently struggled with the gunman out the doorway and "gave up a good fight," getting off a few shots before he was either shot there or succumbed to earlier wounds.

Absolutely tragic. Everyone knows that police work is dangerous, but to specifically target these men and women for execution, as these officers were, is simply cowardly.

Troyer said investigators determined that a hoax call from a person in nearby Tacoma led officers to believe the gunman was on foot and still near the coffee shop. A number of officers spent part of the afternoon carefully searching buildings close by.

How nice. It's not bad enough that 4 cops were shot dead for absolutely no reason, some loser with nothing better to do calls in a hoax as a joke. Despicable.

As I said, police work is dangerous. THIS is the reason why cops act "paranoid" when dealing with someone they don't know. THIS is the reason the cop has his hand on his gun when he walks up to the side of your car on a dark night. THIS is the reason cops may come off as "assholes" when dealing with people. We don't know who we are dealing with and with morons like this one running around gunning down cops it is going to make us even more careful.

So please, the next time you think the cop was being too paranoid or seemed jittery when dealing with you or a loved one, remember the four dead police officers who won't be around for Christmas.

Navy Seals Capture One Of Most Wanted In Iraq..........Now Face Criminal Charges

So this is what this nation has come to. This is what America is turning into. I do not think that I have ever been so stunned in my life.

Apparently, U.S. Navy SEALS capture one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq. The terrorist, Ahmed Hashim Abed, claims that one of the SEALS punched him in the face so the Navy has charged the SEALS with assault. Fox has the story:

Now we are punishing the heroes who have captured this piece of trash. Absolutely deplorable.

Yankees Fantasy Camp Approaches!!!

I have been trying not to think about it, but I can't help it. I am heading to Tampa, Fla. in January 2010 for the Yankees Fantasy Camp!!!! It's drawing nearer and I am getting excited!!

I've been going to the batting cages at the High Point Batting Center for about 2 months already and getting some hitting instruction from a former MLB player. His name is Scott Smith and he runs the place. The staff there is aboslutely top notch. Having two prosthetic legs is certainly a challenge and they have been working with me on ways to compensate for my inability to use my legs when I swing.

I've been having a blast and am already thinking about my time in Florida. If you don't know what the camp is all about, here it is in a nutshell. Basically, you pay to attend a week long camp where you are coached by former Yankee players. They occasionally have some big names show up, (Just last week was their first camp and Reggie Jackson was there for two days!) our camp has David Wells the entire week!!

You play games against the other campers, two double headers a day, and then on the final day of the camp you play AGAINST all the former Yankee players. From all the testimonials I have read, it should be a lot of fun. My brother is also attending and my father is going to travel with us and attend the games. It will be a boys WEEK out in Florida!!

Anyway, I'll write something up about it afterwards and let you know how it goes!!

Obama's Approval Rating Hits Lowest Point Yet

Apparenlty the country isn't feeling so hopey-changey lately. Obama has hit his lowest approval rating yet:

President Obama's approval ratings hit their lowest ranking yet in the Rasmussen Reports daily tracking poll out Tuesday, with 27 percent strongly approving of the president's job performance and 42 percent strongly disapproving, an index rating of -15.

Perhaps its the $3 trillion deficit that we're approaching or maybe the fact that Obama has played more rounds of golf in 11 months than Bush did in two terms while our troops in Afghanistan wait for reinforcements?

Could it be the government health care that is about to be rammed down the country's throat even though the majority of the people are against it?

However, Obama appears to be losing the critical independent vote with 16 percent of unaffiliated voters strongly approving and 33 percent of independent voters approving overall. Fifty-one percent of independents strongly disapprove.

Ouch!

Whatever it is, I think Obama and the dems realize that Obama is done in 2012 and they are trying to cram in their liberal aganeda before the 2010 elections. We can only hope and pray that enough people come to their senses and put the GOP back in power in the Senate and Congress to counter Obama's disastrous policies.

South Carolina Writers Workshop

Last month I attended the South Carolina Writers Workshop in Myrtle Beach, SC. It was the second year in a row that I have gone and I absolutely loved it!! It is very well organized and I have been impressed with both years that I have gone. I hope to make it a yearly trip. If you're wondering what exactly it is, let me explain.

The writing conference brings together authors, publishers, and literary agents as well as all those who are aspiring authors, like me!! It is three days of classes taught be successful people in the literary business. The classes cover all types of topics pertaining to the writing industry.

You can also sign up for a 10 minute "pitch session" in which you meet with an author, agent, or editor and tell them about the book you have been working on. They give you advice and tell you how you should proceed.

This year I spoke with an author named Steve Berry. Here's a little bit about him:

Steve Berry

Steve has been writing since 1990, and though his undergraduate degree is in political science it was Steve's long time interest in history that led to him writing international suspense thrillers. Stories with a little bit of history, secrets, conspiracies, international settings, action and adventure were the kind of books Steve liked to read, so naturally they became the kind of books he liked to write.

It was a lot of fun to meet with him and he had some great insights. He seemed to like my book and encouraged me with some great advice.

I also won a couple of things during a raffle, this is huge news because anyone who knows me knows that I NEVER WIN ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!

I won a basket full of books by authors like Tom Clancy, David Baldacci, etc. some of my favorites!!! I also won a critique of my first three chapters of my book from an actual literary agent. Her name is Barbara Poelle and I attended one of her classes at the workshop, she seemed very professional and is interested in thrillers, the kind of book I am working on.

I'm certainly not expecting her to swoon over it and want to publish my book right away, but I am hoping for some insights on what I can do to make it that good. I'll keep you posted!!

New York Giants Win In Overtime!!!

The New York Giants pulled off a win in overtime on a Lawrence Tynes kick. After being up 31-17 with just over 6 minutes and in typical New York Giants defense fashion, allowed the Atlanta Falcons to score two touchdowns to tie it up.

After winning the coin toss the Giants drove down the field on their first possession and Tynes kicked the field goal that won the game. Eli Manning had a career day going 25/39 with 384 yards and 3 touchdowns.

It was a very strange game. I have known the Giants to have good and bad games, but they were different teams and various DRIVES during the same game. During the 2nd and 3rd quarters they looked like the same team that won the Super Bowl 2 years ago. The rest of the time they looked horrible. Their next game is in only 4 days and the G-men go up against the Broncos on Thanksgiving Day!!!

Rising unemployment taxes could hinder hiring

WASHINGTON – As if small businesses needed another reason not to hire, consider their latest financial burden: The cost of rising unemployment itself.

Employers already are squeezed by tight credit, rising health care costs, wary consumers and a higher minimum wage. Now, the surging jobless rate is imposing another cost. It's forcing higher state taxes on companies to pay for unemployment insurance claims.

Now I am certainly not excusing anyone from their fair share of the blame. As far as the tight credit problems, both political parties can shoulder the blame for that, not that our drive by media would ever notice. Rising health care costs? You ain't seen nothing yet! Just wait until it's "free".

Interestingly enough, the hike in the minimum wage is also affecting the success of small businesses. This one you can chalk up to the dems. Despite the warnings from Republicans, the first act the dems took in 2007 was to hike the minimum wage, you can see the results. However, if you noticed the article spoke about RAISING state taxes in order to make up for the rise in unemployment claims. Does anyone see the problem here?

This is one of the fundamental differences between the Republicans and democrats. The Republicans would have been CUTTING taxes in order to ease part of the burden on these businesses who, in turn, hire more people. Get it? Jacking up the taxes only puts everyone in a hole. It's not rocket science, people.

Many people, and I was one of them, criticized many of the decisions that Joe Girardi, the Yanks manager, made during the year as well as the playoffs. I thought pitching Andy on short rest was a mistake and the Yankees would surely pay for it, but Pettite really played his heart out.

On a cold November evening, matching the latest date a World Series game had ever been played, Pettitte allowed three runs over 5 2/3 innings to extend his postseason records for career wins (18) and series-clinching wins (six). Pettitte also won the final game of all three playoff rounds, matching Boston's Derek Lowe in 2004 as the only pitchers to do so.

Farewell To A Genuine Hero

A read a very sad story today. Staff Sergeant Olaf "Oz" Schmid, a British Army explosives expert, died only a few days before he was set to go home for 2 weeks on leave. Fox News has the story:

A British Army explosives specialist who became a legend by risking his life to defuse more than 60 Taliban roadside bombs was killed in Afghanistan during his final mission before he took leave, the Times of London reported Tuesday.

Very disheartening. Yet, we are so lucky that men such as Staff Sergeant Olaf Schmid existed.

It never ceases to amaze me to the types of people that the military of not only the United States, but as in this case our allies can produce. I cannot imagine the nerves of steel required to do a job such as Sgt. Schmid. How many soldiers and civilians lives has he saved by disarming multiple bombs?

“Oz was a phenomenal husband and loving father who was cruelly murdered on his last day before two weeks off after a relentless five-month tour," she said.

Please keep his family in your prayers. As the holiday season approaches, remember those who defend our way of life on a daily basis so that we can enjoy them with our loved ones.

Rangers Shut Out Boston Bruins 1-0

The New York Rangers shut down the Boston Bruins on Sunday, winning 1-0. Gaborik has continued to be a scoring machine as he scored the only goal of the game.

The signing of Gaborik has been a big reason the Rangers' offense has shown a greater spark. He scored for the fourth straight game, following a pair of New York losses while he was out, and raised his season total to 11 goals.
New York Ranges Henrik Lundqvist has been on his game this year and the game against the Bruins was no exception. They seem to be firing on all cylinders and are second in their division to the Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins.

It was a fun game," Lundqvist said after his 150th NHL victory and 21st career shutout. "This is what I was used to last year ... low scoring and tight. I got a little spoiled this year. We have been scoring a lot."

The Ranges travel to Canada this week to face Vancouver and then Edmonton.

Giants Downward Spiral Continues

To say the New York Giants were dominated on Sunday would be an understatement. As my brother put it, "Other than the horrible play of the offense, the defense, and the special teams, they played pretty well."

The Giants were completely destroyed, 40-17 at the hands of one of their biggest rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles. From the opening kickoff the Eagles owned the Giants scoring 13 points in the first 5 minutes of the game. It didn't improve as the Eagles scored 2 more touchdowns in a span of under a minute just before halftime making it 30-7 at halftime.

It's a complete embarrassment and disappointment," said linebacker Antonio Pierce after the game. "We didn't tackle, we gave up big plays, we didn't cover. We're not communicating. We all have to look at each other in the mirror and we all have to make a change, because what we're doing right now is not working."

Indeed. Coach Coughlin has his work cut out for him as the Giants have dropped 3 straight games after starting 5-0. Many critics have stated that the Giants good start was the result of an easy schedule. In their first 5 games the Giants faced the Redskins, Cowboys, Tampa Bay, Kansas City, and Oakland. With the exception of the Cowboys all the other teams are well below .500. It appears the critics were right. Until the Giants beat a solid team, they will continue to be criticized and questioned.

Next week the San Diego Chargers enter Giants Stadium, so the Giants have a chance for a good win before their bye week.

The Giants are a good team, however, they are completely lost right now. They need to get back to fundamentals and remember how good that they COULD be!!!

Obama Too Busy Playing Golf To Think About Afghanistan

Of course, dear leader is risking lives by not making any decision at all, but why bother with details.

So what has the president been doing? What has been keeping him so very busy that he can't be bothered with something as insignificant as Afghanistan?? Apparently......golf.

The last time it happened, the questioner’s mother turned out to be a state organizer for his campaign, but it’s foolish to assume that these kids are all plants.

Well, he may have a point. Not ALL children are plants, however, I'm sure this child heard similar questions from his parents. Children don't normally ask questions like this, except if its in an Obama Q&A. Hmmmmmmm.

White House Considering New Strategy In Afghanistan, Declaring Taliban "Not Really An Enemy"

We see the "smart power" that earned Obama his Nobel Peace prize in action once again. Apparently, one of the ideas is moving the Taliban back into the "political sphere".

That could mean paving the way for Taliban members willing to renounce violence to participate in a central government — though there has been little receptiveness to this among the Taliban. It might even mean ceding some regions of the country to the Taliban…

Obama kept returning to one question for his advisers: Who is our adversary, the official said.

Who is our adversary? Are you kidding me? THE TALIBAN!! The same people who harbored and helped Al Qaeda wipe out 3,000 Americans on 9/11, that's our adversary.

Interestingly enough, while Obama ponders the Taliban's future and its place in the Afghanistan government, the Taliban has been very busy. While the dems are busy declaring Taliban is not too dangerous, they're attacking Pakistani Army Headquarters:

Agot Valle, a Norwegian politician on the committee, openly acknowledged that Obama hasn’t done anything yet, saying: “There will be criticism, because he hasn't achieved his goals yet. It will take time, but this is a support.”

Well, gosh Agot, what if I WANT to eliminate all war and conflict from the planet, will I win?? I mean, if what Mr. Valle says is true, you could just as easily award the Peace prize to every Ms. America pageant contestant who wishes for "world peace", right???

Of course, the usual cast of liberal news media talking heads are wetting themselves in joy after this. Apparently, you had better be joyful or else the White House will let you know what they think of you.

White House: Scarborough 'A-Hole' For Mocking Nobel

But the Messiah will not be mocked, and it wasn't long before NBC's Savannah Guthrie, on the set, announced that she had received an email from "a senior White House official" telling Joe to "stop being an a------e" [spelled out in the original, according to Savannah]. Mika Brzezinski tried to soft-pedal the insult, claiming the White House was "joking."

Impressive, isn't it? Again, I challenge anyone to tell me of another time when the White House has gone after reporters, private citizens, and entire news networks like this.

Taking a cue from their spineless leader, the democrats quickly jumped on the bandwagon with one democrat accusing Republicans who mock Obama's Nobel Peace prize of being as bad as the Taliban. Yep, that's right folks. Read for yourself:

White House Tired Of Fox News Not Worshipping Obama, Has Plans To Confront Opponents

Once again, I can never think of something like this happening in our history. Apparently, Obama is tired of Fox News broadcasting the truth about his administration full of communists and criminals as well as uncovering the dems lies at every turn.

Enough is enough, so says Obama:

All the criticism, both fair and misleading, took a toll, regularly knocking the White House off message. So a new White House strategy has emerged: rather than just giving reporters ammunition to "fact-check" Obama's many critics, the White House decided it would become a player, issuing biting attacks on those pundits, politicians and outlets that make what the White House believes to be misleading or simply false claims, like the assertion that health-care reform would establish new "sex clinics" in schools.

In other words if you criticize dear leader, expect to hear about it. What stunning arrogance. However, I guess this is what happens when 98% of the media is in your backpocket. Unfortunately for Obama the 2% that isn't in his back pocket is being read and viewed more than any other news media. I guess Obama will see to that.

The take-no-prisoners turn has come as a surprise to some in the press, considering the largely favorable coverage that candidate Obama received last fall and given the President's vows to lower the rhetorical temperature in Washington and not pay attention to cable hyperbole. Fortunately it was the Somali pirates. Apparently, somebody among the pirates decided they were going to assault and seize a cargo ship in the Indian Ocean. The problem? The "cargo ship" was actually the French navy's 18,000 tonne flagship.

"The pirates, who because of the darkness took the French ship for a commercial vessel, were on board two vessels and opened fire with Kalashnikovs," Admiral Christophe Prazuck said in Paris.

Yeah, I think you can see where this one is going.

The pirates tried to flee when they realised their mistake but were pursued by French forces who, after an hour-long chase, caught one of the skiffs, Prazuck said.

The military general credited for capturing Saddam Hussein and killing the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq says he has only spoken to President Obama once since taking command of Afghanistan.

“I’ve talked to the president, since I’ve been here, once on a VTC [video teleconference],” General Stanley McChrystal told CBS reporter David Martin in a television interview that aired Sunday.

"You’ve talked to him once in 70 days?” Mr. Martin followed up.

“That is correct,” the general replied.

Don't forget that Obama said that the Republicans lost focus on Afghanistan and that's where the "real war" and the "war of necessity" was. Well, apparently he doesn't find Afghanistan important enough to have more than one conversation with his commanding general. What IS he busy doing, you ask? Apparently the arrest of Roman Polanski, who pled GUILTY to the crimes he was charged with, has caused quite a stir. First off, if you don't know who Polanski is, here is a brief description of the crime he pled guilty to:

In 1977, Polanski, then aged 44, became embroiled in a scandal involving 13-year-old Samantha Gailey (now Samantha Geimer). It ultimately led to Polanski's guilty plea to the charge of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.[31]

According to Geimer, Polanski asked Geimer's mother if he could photograph the girl for the French edition of Vogue, which Polanski had been invited to guest-edit. Her mother allowed a private photo shoot. According to Geimer in a 2003 interview, "Everything was going fine; then he asked me to change, well, in front of him." She added, "It didn't feel right, and I didn't want to go back to the second shoot."

Geimer later agreed to a second session, which took place on March 10, 1977 at the Mulholland area home of actor Jack Nicholson in Los Angeles. "We did photos with me drinking champagne," Geimer says. "Toward the end it got a little scary, and I realized he had other intentions and I knew I was not where I should be. I just didn't quite know how to get myself out of there." She recalled in a 2003 interview that she began to feel uncomfortable after he asked her to lie down on a bed, and how she attempted to resist. "I said, 'No, no. I don't want to go in there. Things are getting very interesting with regards to Iran's "peaceful" nuclear program. A few days ago Obama announced that he, and the West, is interested in serious, meaningful dialogue about their nuclear program:

No doubt they will be allowed to inspect the facilities as soon as Iran can get any and all evidence of wrongdoing out of the way. Recently, the West has threatened additional and tougher sanctions on Iran if it did not comply. Today Iran responded. By test firing long range missiles.......that could reach U.S. bases and Israel.

Evidently, a Louisville based insurance company called Humana was notifying people about the possible cuts to their benefits if Obamacare goes through. Can you imagine?! Apparently, the Obama administration didn't like it too much.

On Monday, the Obama administration told Humana to "end immediately all such mailings to beneficiaries." It said the materials were "misleading and confusing."

No Obama, your Obamacare is "confusing and misleading", which is exactly the way you want it. Can anyone remember another time when the White House sent threatening letters to private businesses because they didn't like what they were saying??

House Voted To Cut Funding For Acorn; Pelosi Clueless

Fittingly, the House has voted to cut all federal funding to ACORN, the embattled left wing organization that was fundamental in getting Obama elected. Their scandal, several videotapes of ACORN workers advising people how to get around the law and lie to the IRS, was enough to even make many democrats back the bill.

Sweet. It is fun to watch the dems turn on an organization that has been pro-democrat for so long. The 75 democrats who voted AGAINST cutting funding are going to be in for it come election time. Biden's latest screw up came over the minor little point of Iran possessing a nuke.

According to CNN, Joe Biden says that a missile-defense system in Europe isn’t really necessary, because Iran isn’t much of a threat. No, really:

Vice President Joe Biden earlier refused to confirm to CNN that the George W. Bush-era plan was being shelved.

But he did explain the logic of doing so, saying Iran — a key concern for the United States — was not a threat.

“I think we are fully capable and secure dealing with any present or future potential Iranian threat,” he told CNN’s Chris Lawrence in Baghdad, where he is on a brief trip.

It seems difficult to write off Iran as a non-threat while at the same time scrapping a missile defense system for Poland. Is this politics in the bizarro world?!?!?

Enter the IAEA with perfect timing, coming out with a report saying that Iran can already build a nuke and is working on a delivery system. Oh joy!!

Obama Throws Poland Under The Bus

In the final months of the Bush administration an agreement had been struck with our allies in Poland about setting up a missile defense system in eastern Europe. This defense system was designed to deal with any nukes that may come out of Russia as well as Iran.

Apparently with "smart power" in the White House now, Obama has deemed this defense system as too aggressive. At the beginning of his tenure his plan was to use the missile defense system as a bargaining chip to gain Russia's cooperation with Iran. However, now Obama is giving up the defense system................for nothing.

Democrats to Obama: Um, what exactly are we getting for selling out Poland to Russia?

But some members of Obama’s own party, however, had a simple question for the administration: if this was a return to realism, and a concession to Russia’s long and vocal opposition to the missile program, what, exactly, was the U.S. getting in return for fundamentally changing it?

And almost certainly, the answer leads back to Iran…

The only problem is that Russia has already come out AGAINST additional sanctions against Iran.

But Russia has given no ground on those questions, with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov bluntly opposing tougher sanctions. And Medvedev suggested Thursday that any new American political capital would be more likely go toward the longer-term Obama Administration goal of deep cuts to the two countries’ nuclear weapons stocks…

So, essentially, we've told Poland "Good Luck!" while getting nothing in return from Russia. Russia, on the other hand, has given nothing and gotten exactly what it wanted. Way to go O, I'm sure Russia knows not to mess with you now!!!

Joe Wilson Under Attack By Liberal Hate Machine

By now everyone has probably heard of the incident involving Republican Congressman Joe Wilson. During Obama's propaganda speech the other night, Wilson cried out "You lie!" when Obama claimed that Obamacare would not cover illegal aliens.

Now, Wilson has apologized, as he should, even before the dems threatened him, but apparently that's not good enough. No, the liberals want Wilson's outright destruction and have begun a campaign to raise money for Wilson's opponent. Why? Because Wilson dared to call Obama a liar.

Interestingly enough, the Associated Press did a "fact check" on Obama's speech and basically came to the same conclusion that Joe Wilson did.

Lost in all this fake outrage that's being manufactured by the democrats is that a few years ago, during Bush's speech, several dems did the same thing.

ACORN Fraud: Busted For Promoting Prostitution And Fraud

I don't know why it surprises me, but it does. ACORN office workers in Baltimore are secretly videotaped advising two undercover reporters how to lie to the IRS and conduct prostitution activities and get away with it.

Officials with the controversial community organizing group ACORN were secretly videotaped offering to assist two individuals posing as a pimp and a prostitute, encouraging them to lie to the Internal Revenue Service and providing guidance on how to claim underage girls from South America as dependents.

Very nice. Let's not forget that ACORN is a "non profit" organization and is being funded by millions of taxpayer dollars.

Not only are they advising people how to pimp out women,11 Acorn workers were also arrested for voter fraud in the 2008 election.

The FBI and Florida law enforcement officials arrested 11 individuals who were associated with The Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN) for voter fraud relating to the 2008 election.

This should come as no surprise as ACORN came out strongly for Obama. There were plenty of accusations of fraud during the election, however, since the dems won they weren't so concerned about the Constitution like they were during the Bush years.

Those arrested are accused of falsifying almost 900 voter registration cards in Miami-Dade County last year. The Miami-Dade State Attorney's office issued arrest warrants for the suspects. As of now, six are in custody. The 11 accused individuals were working for ACORN to register people to vote, and were paid between $8 and $10 an hour to do so.

What does the local ACORN organization have to say about all this? Get ready.......

The individuals being charged was ``further evidence we've been policing our own folks and report people attempting to commit voter registration fraud,'' said ACORN spokesman Brian Kettenring. ``This was really some individuals who were trying to defraud their employer.''

No Brian, they got away with defrauding the American people.

This is a great post from Sister Toldjah. In it she writes about a recent debate between liberal blogger Michelle Goldberg and centrist blogger Megan McCardle. Goldberg is, of course, ranting about how all the recent occurrences of Obama being called a fascist and compared to Hitler are endangering his life. However, McCardle will have none of it. Watch as she completely destroys her argument to the point where Goldberg is left looking like a deer in the headlights.
